Building Information Modeling (BIM)

What is Building Information Modelling (BIM)?

Building Information Modelling (BIM) refers to the process of generating a 3D digital representation of building data throughout the building life cycle. It is an innovative technology for enabling different project stakeholders to work in an open and collaborative format for seamless, efficient and effective project management.

A Capital Project Adopting ISO19650-compliant Common Data Environment (CDE)

The Pokfield Campus is one of the several HKU capital projects that uses Building Information Modelling (BIM) solutions. AutoCDE (first in the globe certified with BSI Kitemark for BIM Software), a digital solution developed by the award-winning, HKU-homegrown startup Llewellyn and Partners Company Ltd. (LPC), is used to fulfil HKU’s vision to deliver a sustainable, healthy and smart campus through governance, digitalisation and analytics.

Integrated Digital Asset Solution for Project Management through 3D to 5D BIM

AutoCDE is a centralised virtual asset platform (ISO 19650-compliant Common Data Environment) that serves as a digital twin of the construction and real estate assets. It integrates 3D models with project and facility data throughout the project lifecycle to deliver BIM-based project management and financial management, etc, over a single platform.

Utilising this single source of information, all disciplines in the Pokfield Campus project team can contribute, communicate and collaborate over a common ground to save construction and maintenance costs.
