Design Aspirations of Pokfield Campus
A Glimpse of Phase 1 of Pokfield Campus
Phase 1 comprises a sports complex providing world-class sports facilities, as well as an academic complex housing HKU Business School. Let’s look at these two major components first coming into service in 2025.
Building the Future – New Sport Complex
The sports complex on the new campus provides world-class sports amenities – including an upgraded indoor sports hall, an indoor heated swimming pool, a rooftop basketball court, a fitness centre, and multi-purpose activity rooms – to the HKU community.
Latest Arrangement for Sports Facilities
In line with the development of the new campus, the Flora Ho Sports Centre (FHSC) will close in January 2023 for demolition. HKU is committed to ensuring the provision of sports facilities on and off-campus during construction.
FHSC Farewell Day
As FHSC will soon transform into a part of the Pokfield Campus, come along with your teammates, hallmates, friends and family on 8 January 2023 (Sunday) to bid a fond farewell & homecoming to the FHSC, and enjoy a fun-filled programme of photo-taking, reunion, and sports activities.
Engaging with Community
HKU is dedicated to delivering upgraded facilities and improving accessibility in the neighbourhood through the Pokfiled Campus development. Therefore, we engaged with stakeholders including the University Sports Teams, Hall teams, student organizations, staff, and local residents by conducting three town hall meetings in November and December 2022.
Construction Progress
Multiple construction works will take place at the Pokfield Road/ Pokfulam Road site, including slope excavation, installation of pipe piles, and construction of basement and superstructure at the former tennis court between FHSC and Lee Shu Kee Hall.
