The iconic building will feature predominantly academic uses (lecture theatres, classrooms and meeting rooms), but will also include collaborative teaching and learning space for engagement. At the heart of the building is a connected ground floor lobby that is openly accessible to encourage inclusivity and outreach, with entrances to draw people into the campus from different directions.
The planned sunken garden will be a vibrant public space and a welcoming entrance for visitors of the Pokfield Campus, defined by the iconic building design and linked to the planned landscape terraces and walking path along Pokfield Road.

Building on the strong heritage of the University, the HKU Business School strives to encourage and INSPIRE new ideas and initiatives; to EMPOWER students to excel; as well as to LEAD in the frontier of knowledge creation.
The flagship academic complex in Phase 1 will become the School’s new home. This new base will support its vision to become a premier business and economics education and research institute in Asia with global influence.
The new academic complex features a contemporary architectural design inspired by the dynamic nature of the Campus. The four-storey complex houses lecture theatres, classrooms, research laboratories and offices equipped with innovative IT facilities to accommodate the needs of remote learning. The Pokfield Campus will empower the HKU Business School to support the long-term development of its academic and research programmes.
