The University of Hong Kong (HKU) announced the appointment of Build King Construction Ltd (“Build King”) as the main contractor for Phase 3 of the Pokfield Campus Development, following a competitive procurement process.
The appointment represents a major milestone in HKU’s ongoing campus transformation at Pokfield Road to create a new Academic Complex (Phase 3) that will create world-class infrastructure enabling teaching and learning, research, and student life. The 17-storeys academic complex and conference centre will include a 2000-seat conference center, lecture theatres, classrooms, research centre, student amenities and offices for the faculty staff of the HKU Business School.
Under the contract, Build King will deliver the Phase 3 works, with construction works commencing in August 2025 and completion targeted for 2028.
HKU Estates Office stated that “The appointment of Build King as our main contractor for Phase 3 reflects HKU’s commitment to quality, safety, and timely delivery. This milestone will lead us to realising our vision of achieving a world-class campus at the Pokfield Campus that serves our students, staff, and the wider community.”

Our team is committed to delivering Phase 3 to the highest standards of construction, safety, and sustainability, working closely with HKU and all project stakeholders.”
The project team will implement comprehensive mitigation measures and will continue to engage regularly with stakeholders and the neighbouring community to ensure transparency and minimise disruption to the environment throughout construction.
